I mean, I understand Mary. It all started with Anne Boleyn, she tore her family apart and took her mom away. But we blame Henry for thinking that Catherine of Aragon had sons who all died after birth and Mary was the only one left because of a curse. Curse or not, Catherine of Aragon was approaching menopause and they still had no heir to represent the dynasty. Mary as a girl was useless because she would not represent the family because women were never regents until the period of her reign, they ruled independently without a king by their side. It was believed that the daughter would go and get married, and the son would stay, which makes some sense. They had to divorce, but Henry must have been a horrible father because even after the divorce he did not allow Mary to see her mother Catherine. He didn't allow her to go to her funeral and it was very disastrous for Mary's health because she had menstrual disorders (doctors thought it was all normal because the princess was already in puberty), insomnia and cramps. In addition, she was banished from the court and thought there was no life for her in England, but when she heard that Anne Boleyn was going to be executed, she thought she could return to the court, and without Jane Seymour she would not have returned because she asked Henry to reconcile with his daughter.
